Event Description
Implantation of 52mm bipolar cathcart head, case details, multiple changes of planned implants and company involvement, high risk fracture neck of femur patient.Following review of paperwork post surgery, the implant had recently expired.Expired date 30/9/2022.

Product complaint # (b)(4).Investigation summary: no device associated with this report was received for examination.The allegation can be confirmed as the date of implant was after the expiry date.The information received will be retained for potential series investigations if triggered by trend analysis, post market surveillance, or other events within the quality system.Depuy considers the investigation closed.Should additional information be received, the information will be reviewed and the investigation will be re-opened as necessary.Device history lot: a manufacturing record evaluation (nc search) was performed for the finished device 103552000, lot hh8204, and no non-conformances / manufacturing irregularities were identified.
