Event Description
|
Information was received from a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for urinary/bowel dysfunction and urge incontinence.It was reported that the patient called inquiring about how to access mri mode for an mri they need on their neck.Patient mentioned that their device has been shut off since december when they noticed they were having some problems with it.Patient said the ins started burning them through their skin and they got big blisters where the battery pack is.Patient said they saw their healthcare provider (hcp) in january and said they talked about either removing the ins or replacing it, but wanted to wait until the patient got their results back from the mri of their neck to determine a course of action, especially if they end up needing surgery.Helped patient successfully access mri mode and reviewed mri guidelines.

Additional information was received from the patient.It was reported that the cause f the ins burning was undetermined.The patient is waiting for issues with their neck to be figured out before deciding how to resolve this issue.The issue was not yet resolved.
