|
During the index procedure one venaseal closure system was used to treat a lesion located in the great saphenous vein 1.Approximately 3 weeks post procedure the patient suffered from cellulitis.The patient noted during a follow up visit that the ulcer was infected.The patient was prescribed medication.The patient was also treated with compression dressing and wrap to use on the leg.The ulcer dried up, the pain reduced and the infection appeared to have completely gone.During examination the ulcer appeared 80% sloughy with minimal exudate.The principle investigator confirmed it was no longer infected.A new ulcer was noted on the index leg where the skin was broken but the index ulcer was not affected.The patient recovered.It was stated that the event is related to target limb but not related to the vein.
