The patient underwent a routine neurostimulator replacement on (b)(6) 2023.Two weeks later she presented with pain at the incision site.The patient was started on oral antibiotics.After a week of oral antibiotics she reported swelling at the incision site.A ct imaging of the brain was performed.There appeared to be a fluid pocket below the skin, directly over the device, consistent with infection.The rns and leads were explanted on (b)(6) 2023.Treatment included removal of entire rns system on (b)(6) 2023 and iv antibiotics.The patient was given keflex po initially, then vancomycin iv postoperatively.This was continued orally for at least 8 weeks (currently ongoing).The infection resolved with treatment.This was diagnosed as a deep incisional infection.
