This event is recorded with zimmer biomet under (b)(4).This medwatch is being filed as an initial report.Customer has indicated that the product is in process of being returned to zimmer biomet for investigation.Once the investigation has been completed, a follow-up mdr will be submitted.

It was reported during maintenance that the following failure descriptions were noted: control bar issue; motor speed issue; calibration issue; damaged switch; worn screws; worn needle bearing; corroded motor.Event occurred outside surgery.There was no reported patient involvement, harm, or delay.Due diligence is in progress, no further information is available at this time.

This event has been recorded by zimmer biomet under (b)(4).G2: foreign: poland this medwatch is being filed to relay additional information.The following sections were updated/corrected: review of the most recent repair record determined the switch was damaged, the needle bearing and 2 screws were worn, the motor speed was unstable and was corroded, the unit was out of calibration at 0 reading and the position of the control bar was not correct.The switch, motor, needle bearing and 2 screws were replaced and the unit and position of the control bar were recalibrated and resolved the reported issue.A definitive root cause cannot be determined.No corrective actions, preventive actions, or field actions resulted after investigation of this event.The event is confirmed.If any further information is found which would change or alter any conclusions or information, a supplemental report will be filed accordingly.Zimmer biomet will continue to monitor for trends.
