Event Description
Information received from patient via manufacturer representative regarding an event happened during post-op of the reported products implanted during unknown spinal procedure.It was reported that, patient had surgery starting at l7 plus 3 more levels down.When patient had his hip replaced, they noticed loose metals in his body.A bracket (probably a crosslink) and 2 screws had broken in his construct.In 2nd surgery, screws could not be removed from the bone, but surgeon created supports above and below affected areas to repair and stabilize the construct which now extends to his sacral/ pelvic area.There were no patient symptoms as a result of this event.No further complications reported.
