According to the literature source of the study, over 5 years after insertion, during hd (hemodialysis), a 47-year-old man with a history of end-stage renal disease on hd presented for a tunneled dialysis catheter exchange related to poor flow through a right femoral dialysis catheter (palindrome with unknown product number).A venography showed persistent superior vena cava (svc) occlusion and infrahepatic inferior vena cava (ivc) occlusion.A salvage procedure was performed via a transcaval transhepatic approach, and utilizing venography and cone-beam computed tomography, a 55-cm tunneled hd catheter of the same brand was successfully placed and used for hd.
