A thermal event was called in by the patient for their rep dreamstation auto cpap.The patient alleges an error message regarding the sd card, which when checked had appeared melted.The device would be hot to touch, and sparks were seen on the unit.No troubleshooting was done at the time due to potential risk of sparks, so the device was flagged for remediation upon device return.No harm to the patient was reported.The device has not been returned to the manufacturer.At this time, we are unable to confirm the alleged malfunction.A follow-up report will be submitted when the manufacturer's investigation is complete.
