Event Description
According to the reporter, the endotracheal tube's stylet was noted too malleable and not rigid enough when removed from the package and compared to the product prior to the conversion.The stylet was significantly more flimsy and malleable to provide the support needed on difficult endotracheal intubations.There was a need to use the previous stylet and there was no patient harm.

Event Description
According to the reporter, the endotracheal tube's stylet was noted to be too malleable and not rigid enough when removed from the package compared to the product prior to the conversion.The stylet was significantly more flimsy and malleable, unable to provide the support needed for difficult intubations.It was determined that a 14-fr stylet should be used instead of the 10-fr.There was no patient harm.
