Event Description
|
A hawkone atherectomy device was being used for treatment of a plaque lesion with 99% stenosis in the mid left popliteal artery.There was mild tortuosity and no calcification.A 6fr non medtronic sheath and a 0.0014" non medtronic guidewire were used.The ifu was followed.It was reported that severe resistance was felt during withdrawal and the nos cone separated from the device leaving only the packer/cutter rod.The tip did not separate at the hinge pin. the physician was able to get the detached nosecone to the common femoral.The patient was then taken to surgery where the device was successfully removed.
