Event Description
It was reported that the battery of this implantable cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (crt-d) device was suspected to be depleting prematurely.The remaining estimated longevity decreased from 11 years to 5 years between follow ups.A request was made to have data from this device analyzed.Data analysis confirmed the battery appeared to be depleting more quickly than expected.Device replacement was recommended.This device remains in service.No adverse patient effects were reported.

It was reported that the battery of this implantable device was suspected to be depleting prematurely.The estimated longevity decreased not as expected, from eleven to five and a half years, within an unspecified time period.A request was made to have data from this device analyzed.Data analysis confirmed the battery appeared to be depleting more quickly than expected.Device replacement was recommended.The battery status was being constantly reassessed and new replacement windows were being provided.This device was replaced and is expected to be returned for analysis.The estimated longevity at the time of the replacement procedure was one year left.No additional adverse patient effects were reported.
