Event Description
Medtronic received information that during the implant of this 22mm aortic mechanical valve, it was explanted and replaced with another manufacturers mechanical valve. The reason for the replacement was reported as the opening and closing angle of the valve was not good as the valve leaflet movement angle did not reach the ideal state. It was stated that the physician thought the issue was due to the large size and the impact of the patient's subvalvular structure and that it was a case of patient prosthesis mismatch. No additional adverse patient effects were reported.
