It was reported that the procedure was to treat a left main coronary artery.The ostial left main was pre-dilated with a 3x10mm non-compliant balloon and a 4.0x18mm xience prime stent was deployed.The delivery system was pulled back to the lm ostium and inflated to 14 atmospheres to dilate the proximal portion of the stent; however, the balloon on the delivery system only partially deflated.The patient began to experience pain; therefore, an attempt was made to pull out the device, but separated at the shaft.The balloon still did not fully deflate and an attempt to puncture it with a guide wire tip was made, but failed.Through the femoral approach the half inflated balloon was entrapped and snared out.It was noted during removal that resistance with felt as the balloon remained partially inflated.There was no adverse patient sequela and no clinically significant delay reported.No additional information was provided.
