Event Description
It was reported that while the patient was being implanted with the heartmate 3 the coring knife was dull and did not completely core the apex of the left ventricle.It was reported that only about 2/3 of the attempted core was cut, leaving 1/3 of the myocardium to cut with a surgical blade.There were no consequences to the patient or delay in procedure.
