It was reported by the registered nurse (rn) that the ventilator made a high-pitched alarm sound, and the graphic user interface touchscreen went black.When the respiratory therapist (rt) arrived at the patient''s bedside, the ventilator was in the process of restarting.After 30-60 seconds, the touchscreen displayed previously set settings and mode.After acknowledging the settings, the rt selected resume ventilation and the device functioned normally.The patient remained on this ventilator until the next night and then was placed on another ventilator.There was no harm or serious injury to the patient.Vital signs were unchanged.
