It was reported that during a superion indirect decompression (id) spacer implant, the patient experienced a spinous process fracture, and the procedure was aborted.Imaging taken confirmed proper placement of the id spacer.It was noted the spinous process fractured during the removal of the canula from the spacer, however no issues were reported on the devices, no abnormalities were found, no excessive force was used during the procedure and the cause of the fracture is unknown, per the physicians assessment.Physical analysis of the id spacer was not performed as it was retained by the facility.No additional medical or surgical intervention was required, and the patient did well post-operatively.
