Event Description
It was reported that the battery of this cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (crt-d) went from 10 months to four months of battery remaining.Boston scientific technical services (ts) explained the elective replacement indicator (eri), and small changes in output or pacing percentage can change the projected longevity significantly as the battery nears explant.To date, the device remains in service.No adverse patient effects were reported.
