Event Description
According to the reporter, during a laparoscopic cholecystectomy, at the cystic duct, the surgeon was able to squeeze the handle, and the surgeon complained that it felt the clip was tearing through the vessel and it felt even if there was a wider clip. The surgeon also noted that the sharpness between the clip and the proximal jaw was quite sharp. An endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ercp) was carried out, a cystic duct leakage was discovered, and a stent was used. The surgical time was extended for 30 minutes.A competitor's device was used to resolve the issue.
