Event Description
It was reported that the cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (crt-d) inappropriately withheld therapy for ventricular tachycardia (vt) episodes which were classified as supra ventricular tachycardia (svt) via the device feature that uses pattern and rate analysis to discriminate between supraventricular tachycardia (svt) and true ventricular tachyarrhythmias.It was noted that the patient's arrhythmia self-terminated.The device was reprogrammed and remains in use.No further patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
