The manufacturer received information regarding a dreamstation 2 adv auto cpap device with an allegation that the device "overheated and fried the mechanics inside" and "the screen is always black" even when the device is blowing air.The patient states their "device got hot and the screen [was] fried." they noticed during the day that the light was on and "the machine was super hot" that they turned it off and unplugged it from an extension cord/surge protector.When they used it that night, the blower worked, however the controls would "not work anymore." the patient "is unable to change the controls on the device and is unable to change any settings or see the screen." in addition, they state that the "machine will only run on high heat and high humidity." there was no allegation of serious or permanent harm or injury.No medical intervention was required for the patient.The manufacturer's investigation is ongoing.A follow-up report will be submitted when the manufacturer's investigation is complete.
