The manufacturer received information in relation to a ds2adv auto cpap unit.The patient stated that the device stopped working for therapy in the middle of the night, soon, after that is when he notices a burning smell.He unplugged the power source, plugged back in, pushed the power button, the air was blowing and could smell burning smell.He shut the device off and repeated this several times, but the burning smell remained.There was no allegation of serious or permanent harm or injury.No medical intervention was required for the patient.The manufacturer's investigation is ongoing.A follow-up report will be submitted when the manufacturer's investigation is complete.
