Medtronic received information that during the implant of this transcatheter bioprosthetic valve via vascular access that was calcified with lesions ranging from the common iliac artery (cia) to the external iliac artery, the 14 fr sheath would not pass through the cia.A balloon angioplasty was performed to advance the sheath.The sheath was then replaced with the delivery catheter system (dcs) which was advanced successfully; however some resistance was noted.Following valve implant and upon removal of the dcs, a dissection was observed.Subsequently, a stent was placed.No additional adverse patient effects were reported.
