Event Description
|
It was reported that the patient implanted with this cardiac resynchronization therapy pacemaker (crt-p) presented to the emergency room (er) due to pain and phrenic nerve stimulation.Noise with oversensing was observed with upper body movements, resulting in pacing inhibition with approximately 5-second intervals of asystole. The patient was nearsyncopal, but denied loss of consciousness.Device interrogation revealed that this crt-p had entered safety mode, and the patient was flown to a different facility for emergent device replacement.Device replacement was completed, and this crt-p was expected to be returned for analysis. No additional adverse patient effects were reported.
