Event Description
It was reported that during set-up of the device for a cardiopulmonary bypass (cpb) procedure, the central control monitor (ccm) displayed red x's on the module icons.As a result, an alternate device was employed.The surgical procedure was completed successfully.There was no delay, no blood loss, nor adverse consequences to the patient.

Updated blocks: d9, h3, and h6 the field service representative (fsr) verified that there was a red x displayed on the heart lung machine (hlm) when the modules were plugged into the left network interface card (nic) board.The fsr replaced the nic board and power cable assembly and performed all performance/verification testing successfully.The unit operated to the manufacturer's specifications.
