Event Description
The field service representative (fsr) reported that during preventive maintenance (pm) of the device, battery acid was found under the batteries on the perfusion system.There was no pt involvement.
 
Manufacturer Narrative
Per the fsr, the battery acid leak happened prior to the battery issue reported on mdr # 1828100-2014-01087.The fsr cleaned up the battery acid leak and installed new mfr batteries.Preventive/corrective maintenance was completed successfully.The unit operated to mfr specifications and was returned to clinical use.If additional info becomes available on this complaint that would alter the facts and/or conclusion, a supplemental report will be filed accordingly.
