It was reported from (b)(6) that during an unspecified surgical procedure, it was observed that the battery oscillator device was found to be faulty.According to the reporter, when switched on, the device started running on its own before the trigger was pressed.The reporter stated that when the trigger was pressed, the device switched off.There was a thirty minute delay in the surgical procedure.A spare device was used to complete the surgery.It was reported that the event occurred before the device was used on a patient.There were no reports of injuries, medical intervention or prolonged hospitalization.All available information has been disclosed.If additional information should become available, a supplemental medwatch report will be submitted accordingly.
