Event Description
It was reported that the tablet device displayed an "unable to open port" error message.The usb serial cable was replaced and the issue resolved.It was noted that the programming wand was cosmetically damaged; the wand functioned normally but the wand serial cable was cracked and frayed.The usb serial cable and the programming wand were returned to the manufacturer for analysis.The handle strain relief of the programming wand was found to be damaged.Although there was damage to the handle strain relief, this condition had no adverse impact on device performance.The programming wand performed according to functional specifications.Analysis of the returned usb serial cable is currently underway.

Event Description
Analysis of the usb serial cable found that the cause for the reported allegation is associated with a disconnected wire connection in the returned serial cable.Once the wire was soldered onto the serial cable pcb, no further anomalies were identified.
