Event Description
It was reported that a few days post insertion of the tracheostomy tube, the pilot cuff became stiff and the cuff was not holding air.The tracheostomy tube was subsequently replaced with another of same size/type.The cuff was pretested prior to use.There was no unusual patient anatomy and the tube was lubricated with surgilube prior to insertion.There was no harm to the patient reported.
