The complainant was unable to report the upn and lot number; therefore the manufacture date and expiration date are unknown.(b)(4) for the reported event of stent migration.The complainant indicated that the device was disposed and will not be returned for evaluation; therefore, a failure analysis of the complaint device could not be completed.If any further relevant information is identified, a supplemental medwatch will be filed.

It was reported to boston scientific corporation on (b)(6) 2015 that a fully covered wallflex biliary stent was implanted to treat a 2 cm benign stricture in the distal common bile duct during a procedure performed on an unknown date.The patient was reported to have a history of sclerosing cholangitis.There was no visible damage noted to the stent prior to the procedure.According to the complainant, the patient presented with cholangitis and it was noted that the fully covered wallflex biliary stent had migrated into the duodenum.Reportedly, the stent had been implanted for less than a year.The fully covered wallflex biliary stent was removed from the patient on (b)(6) 2015 using a snare.There were no patient complications reported as a result of this event.The patient's condition at the conclusion of the procedure was reported to be stable.
