Event Description
|
Information was received from a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for dystonia.It was reported their deep brain stimulator (dbs) therapy was ¿malfunctioning¿ and the therapy would not turn off.They received a new patient programmer (pp) recently.They checked the implant with the pp and the implant would not turn off when she would press the off button.Further follow-up was being conducted to determine if their managing physician had been notified of the issue, what the circumstances were that led to the ins not shutting off, and what steps were taken to resolve the issue.If additional information is received, a supplemental report will be submitted.
