Event Description
As reported by the user facility: rn (female) removed a missed iv catheter prior to pulling the stylet through the hub.The 20 gauge iv catheter was placed on the bedside table while rn attempted another pivc (peripheral iv catheter) insertion.Upon clearing the bedside table, the rn stuck herself in the palm of the hand.Hospital protocol for nsi (needle stick injury) was followed and the patient was found to be clean of bbp (blood borne pathogens).No sample available.
