(b)(4).Evaluation is in progress, but not yet concluded.The field service representative (fsr) verified the reported issue.The cardioplegia (cpg) monitor will display temperatures but not pressures.He replaced temperature/pressure printer circuit (pc) board.The cpg monitor is within manufacturer¿s specifications and is ready for clinical use.

It was reported that during set-up of the device for a cardiopulmonary bypass (cpb) procedure, the cardioplegia monitor would not display pressures.As a result, an alternate device was employed.The surgical procedure was completed successfully.There was no delay, no blood loss, nor adverse consequences to the patient.

During laboratory evaluation, the product surveillance technician (pst) installed a lab use only (luo) cardioplegia monitor and found that the returned temperature/pressure board caused the monitor to not display pressures.Poor solder connections on the board were also found.If additional information becomes available on this complaint that would alter the facts and/or conclusion, a supplemental report will be filed accordingly.
