It was reported by the nurse, via ms&s, that she had a patient whose aspira pleural drainage tube will not drain unless a "pleurx bottle" is used.She states they have used 3-4 bags and each time the drainage doesn't work until the pleurx bottle is placed.Ms&s went through several troubleshooting ideas.
