Event Description
Information was received from a healthcare provider (hcp) via a manufacturer representative on (b)(6) 2017 regarding a patient receiving morphine (40 mg/ml at 30 mg/day) via an implanted infusion pump.The indication for use was non-malignant pain.It was reported that on (b)(6) 2017, the patient was unable to be interrogated while lying flat.The pump could only be interrogated while the patient was upright.Multiple attempts were made to interrogate the pump with various programmers.The pump was replaced on (b)(6) 2017 and the issue was considered resolved.There were no environmental, external, or patient factors that were thought to have led or contributed to the event, and the patient's status at the time of report was alive - no injury.No further complications were reported or anticipated.
 
Manufacturer Narrative
Analysis of the pump found no anomalies; the pump passed a telemetry distance test with typical results.Interrogation of the pump determined it was used to infuse morphine and bupivacaine.If information is provided in the future, a supplemental report will be issued.
