A medtronic representative reported that while outside of a procedure the axiem box was working intermittently.The navigate light does not light up at times.There was no patient present when this issue was identified.No further information was provided.

The hardware investigation of the returned axiem box found that the reported event was related to an electrical issue.Port 8 stayed amber when instrument was inserted.Eminterface reported a fault on the instrument.Tracking details showed port 8 not used.The reported event was confirmed.This issue was documented in a medtronic navigation hardware anomaly tracking database.
