(b)(4).A follow-up medwatch will be submitted when additional information becomes available.(b)(4).On 2018-05-16: field service technician has been sent for investigation and repair.According to service report# (b)(4) the capasitive level sensor has been replaced.After replacement of the sensor, the unit passed all calibration, functional and safety test performed.The unit was returned to the customer/hospital and cleared for clinical use.Thus the failure could be confirmed.As confirmed by field service technician on 2018-05-29, the sensor was discarded and is therefore no longer available for return for further investigation.Most probable root cause could not be determined exactly.The data is also being handled through a designated maquet cardiopulmonary trending and applicable investigation process.Due to this no further investigation initiations will be completed at this time.Since the reported failure did not contribute to a death or serious injury no corrective action is needed.In addition at this time it cannot be concluded that this is a systemic error.No corrective action is needed.
