Patient information was unavailable from the site.A medtronic representative went to the site to test the equipment.Representative adjusted the x-stage cover to allow the gantry to move back and forth in the x direction without issue."testing revealed that buttons at top of pendant were required additional pressing force and intermittently halted gantry movement." replaced pendant.Completed system checkout, system functioning normally.The imaging system then passed the system checkout and was found to be fully functional.No parts have been received by the manufacturer for evaluation.
 
Event Description
Medtronic received information regarding an imaging device during a sacroiliac and thoracolumbar procedure.It was reported intraoperatively that the gantry was unable to spin and unable to take a spin.The site elected to use a different imaging device to continue the procedure.Surgical delay was less than one hour.No impact on patient outcome.
 
Manufacturer Narrative
The pendant for the imaging system was returned to the manufacturer for evaluation.Functional testing was unable to replicate the reported issue.However, physical wear was found on the gantry motion buttons.
