Event Description
Information was received via a manufacturer representative from a consumer regarding a patient who was implanted with a neurostimulator.It was reported that the patient is complaining of a burning sensation at the battery site.She first felt the burning sensation in (b)(6) 2017 at a wedding.She says that it happens if the devices on or off and no particular event causes the burning.She lost 10 pounds.She said that it happens for ten minutes at a time and it is very painful and was considering getting the device explanted.She is afraid that the device is defective.It remains unknown what led to this and she hasn¿t had an accidents or falls.No interventions have yet been planned or performed to resolve the issue; however, the manufacturer representative was planning on troubleshooting at the patient¿s next appointment with the health care provider.There were no surgical interventions planned or performed at the time of the report.The issue was not resolved at the time of the report.There were no further complications reported.
