Event Description
|
Information was received from a consumer (con) regarding a patient who was implanted with a neurostimulator for gastric stimulation.It was reported that the patient¿s stimulator had turned off twice in the last couple months.They had a return of symptoms when this happened.The patient¿s healthcare professional (hcp) was able to turn the stimulator on both times.The patient was wondering if the stimulator was getting close to end of service (eos) and was going to follow-up with the hcp to check the implant.It was noted that this issue happened in the last couple of months prior to the report.No further complications were reported or anticipated.

Additional information received from a consumer (con).It was reported that it was unknown what led to the stimulator turning off.It had almost been seven years since they were implanted and the patient noted that it shut off twice.Their surgeon restarted the device two times in four months.
