It was reported that during an unspecified surgical procedure, the blade device would not turn.During an in-house engineering evaluation it was observed that the battery oscillator device blade would not turn and the device stopped running.It was further determined that the device failed pre-test for saw head housing and needle bearing corroded, check saw blade coupling, the oscillation head and set-screw were corroded and the motor got hot.This event did not occur during surgery.There was no patient involvement.There were no reports of injuries, medical intervention or prolonged hospitalization.The exact date of this event is unknown.All available information has been disclosed.If additional information should become available, a supplemental medwatch will be submitted accordingly.
