Event Description
Information was received from a consumer regarding a patient who was implanted with a neurostimulator (ins) for parkinson's dual and movement disorders.It was reported that the patient received a new battery on (b)(6) 2019.Caller is concerned it may be "defective".They state that the therapy is worse than before she had the ins replaced.Caller stated they have concerns over how the current ins is programmed and feels that the patient is getting "overstimulation".The patient is not happy with the physician at the facility they go to and do not want to be programmed by them.What they have gone through is not right.The patient is not happy with the rechargeable system.They were given no instructions on how to charge the ins and implant was at 100 percent and today it is 75 percent.Caller stated the doctor's office was not able to communicate with the ins post procedure and they told the patient it was due to the bandage at the ins site.No actions have yet been taken.No further complications were reported or anticipated with this event.
