Event Description
Information was received from a healthcare professional (hcp) regarding a patient with an implantable neurostimulator (ins). It was reported that there was edema or fluid in the ins pocket site per a ct scan. The patient was implanted on (b)(6) 2019 and was reporting nausea. The hcp reported impedances c2-255 ohms and c3 ¿ 901 ohms (>800) and c2 < c3 1011 ohms. The hcp wondered if there was an open circuit. They indicated a ct was performed and it looked like there was fluid in the pocket.Additional information from a manufacturer representative (rep) stated the hcp thought it was post-implant edema. No further patient complications were reported as a result of this event.

Event Description
Additional information received from a manufacturer representative (rep). It was reported that the patient experienced a fall on their abdomen a few weeks prior to the report. The hcp believed the fall may have put pressure on one of the leads, resulting in a 901 [ohm] impedance reading. The hcp placed the patient in unipolar stimulation mode, using c2 as the stimulating electrode, turning off lead c3, and making case positive. They were looking to get the patient scheduled for the operating room (or) in a couple of weeks to open the pocket site and tighten the setscrews to normalize the impedance.Clinically and symptomatically, the patient received significant benefit from the device and continued to do well.
