It was reported that a suspected tia (transient ischemic attack) occurred.A non-bsc valve was implanted in a transcatheter aortic valve replacement (tavr) procedure.A sentinel device was used during the tavr procedure. The proximal filter was successfully deployed, but the physician was unable to maintain the position of the distal filter in the left carotid artery. There were no other issues with the sentinel, and it was used to complete the procedure.A couple of hours after the index procedure, the patients vision became blurry.A full neurological work-up was performed to treat the blurry vision. The patient then returned to baseline and was discharged. The physician believed some sort of embolic material may have caused the blurred vision.
