Event Description
Information was received from a consumer regarding a patient with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for dystonia.It was reported that the patient needed a ct scan/myelogram for a surgery related to deep brain stimulation (dbs).The healthcare provider (hcp) said there was an overgrowth of bones in the spinal column, and the patient said it was related to dbs because they have a pinched nerve at the brainstem.Their cardiologist told them not this test or surgery because they have mitral valve prolapse.The patient also mentioned they were in bed and could not sit either to look up info in their book.No further complications were reported or anticipated with this event.Refer to (b)(4) for details pertaining to the inss migrating before and after replacement.
