(b)(4).Concomitant medical products: 131822040 dvr lock mini l.Foreign country: (b)(6).Customer has indicated that the product is in process of being returned to zimmer biomet for investigation.Once the investigation has been completed, a follow-up mdr will be submitted.

It has been reported when the cortex was drilled out using the fast guide; the drill fractured off and got stuck.The surgical technique was followed.The bone structure or cortex was normal.No adverse events have been reported as a result of the malfunction.Attempts have been made and additional information on the reported event is unavailable at this time.

This follow-up report is being submitted to relay additional information.Complaint sample was evaluated and the reported event was confirmed.Visual inspection of the returned products noted the tip of the drill bit broken and seized in the plate.Galling and heat damage can be seen on the drill shaft.The outside diameter of the drill bit was measure and it is conforming.The returned part was sent to ats for hardness testing and noted the part is conforming.The device history record (dhr) was reviewed and no discrepancies relevant to the reported event were found.Root cause was unable to be determined.If any further information is found which would change or alter any conclusions or information, a supplemental report will be filed accordingly.Zimmer biomet will continue to monitor for trends.
