Could you provide REPORTS about the security of your products while under your control?

The next question addresses accountability.  It’s important to be able to report on and be accountable for the security measures you take to protect your food supply.  Let’s look at some actions you can take to address this question.

  • Periodically evaluate the effectiveness of your security management system

You should strive to review and verify, at least annually, the effectiveness of your security management program, revising the program accordingly, and keeping this information confidential.

Example:  Use knowledgeable in-house or third party staff to conduct tampering or other malicious, criminal, or terrorist action exercises and mock recalls and challenge computer security systems.
