Manufacturer Reason for Recall | Due to two issues:
1) Customer complaints associated with greater than expected Rapid Plasma Reagin (RPR) reactivity which does not confirm with treponemal antibody test which may be due to a positive correlation between the mass COVID vaccinations and false reactive RPR results, and
2) During routine stability monitoring, an increase in mean bias above specification was observed which can cause elevated RPR reactivity potentially due to early shelf-life failure. |
FDA Determined Cause 2 | Nonconforming Material/Component |

The record is updated if the FDA identifies a violation and classifies the action as a recall, and it is updated for a final time when the recall is terminated. Learn more about medical device recalls. 2 Per FDA policy, recall cause determinations are subject to modification up to the point of termination of the recall. 3 The manufacturer has initiated the recall and not all products have been corrected or removed. This record will be updated as the status changes.
