Event Description
|
Physician used venaseal for treatment of the patient¿s short saphenous vein (ssv).The vein is reported to have closed.It is reported post procedure the patient experienced deep vein thrombosis (dvt).The patient was hospitalized, and a ct scan was performed which revealed there was venaseal adhesive present in the patent¿s popliteal vein as well as the ssv.Using a non-medtronic peripheral thrombectomy system the adhesive was removed from the patient¿s popliteal vein.The patient still experienced symptoms of dvt and has been treated with drugs eliquis and clexane.No further injury reported.
