Information was received from a consumer (con) regarding a patient who was implanted with a neurostimulator (ins) for gastric stimulation.It was reported that there was a loss of therapy.In (b)(6) 2020, the patient had the device turned off because they had a gastric bypass surgery on (b)(6) 2020.The surgery was related to the reason the patient got the device as well as other medical necessities for their kidneys.The patient confirmed that the device was helping with their symptoms until it was turned off in (b)(6).Since then, their symptoms had slowly gotten worse and they were sicker and nauseous.The patient stated they had now developed an ulcer and pain and they were hospitalized for this.The doctor believed the device should be turned back on.No device issues or further complications were reported or anticipated.
