Event Description
|
It was reported that approximately four days after leads were placed, the patient presented with stroke like symptoms and new oxygen needs that prevented him from leaving the hospital post-operatively.Mri imaging was taken and revealed that it was edema, and not a blood clot, that was causing the stroke like symptoms. The physician was unclear as to why this happened or what contributed to the cause of the oxygen needs, but did not feel that it was related to the type of device but the procedure itself; and questioned if it had something to do with the fact that the initial pass of the leads was off and had to be reinserted with a shift posterior. The patient symptoms that presented as a stroke are resolving and the patient is in a rehabilitation center while he recovers.
